Well didnt get to go camping this weekend in the end. Lets just say they are a bunch of wimps…

Well got up to the Mournes anyways today. Took the below shot. Took some colours ones also. I am using Bibble to post process my images these days till it get photoshop for the mac. Bibble is great but its giving me a headache when exporting images it tends to over saturate them and under expose them. Some thing to do with profiles im sure… This is one i managed to export. Have more pixes top and bottom

Sorry if this is very wide but it has to been seen large i think to appreciate

I always loved the enormous depth in the IR photos… that sky is wonderful! The sheeps are supposed to be looking at you, why didn’t you educate them? Nice image, really nice.

Very nice image there Martin, in fact we were just talking about your IR images this morning while out in Dunmore East and I said I wasn’t a fan of IR, but I do like this one

Me IR filter is in the post… nuff said. Great shot.. the sky is a bit too demented for fluffy sheep in the foreground IMO but still an excellent shot.

A little too heavily toned for me Martin-
and I’m maybe not too gone on black skies either really,
    to tell the truth-
but its still a likeable picture-

    I don’t know the Mournes,
Is slieve Binnian one of the high ones?

Do you have a picture Slieve Donard, btw?

    Where’s the snow?
I was expecting Scott of the Antarctic stuff-

    Thanks all for the comments

randomway: Thanks for that. The sky is different, was surprised how it came out. Yea the sheep are trying to get away. I asked them to smile and look into the camera and say cheese but they wouldn’t listen.

lousyphoto: Yee were talking about my IR images, would have liked to of been a fly on the wall for that:-) Your not a fan of IR, no worries its not everyones cup of tea. Its only something i started doing in the last 12 months hope to do more Colour stuff and normal B&W this year myself, will still do the IR but will be taking the colour camera out of the bag first instead of the other way around hopefully

nfl-fan: Good to hear you are getting a filter. Will be a bit of fun for you. I enjoyed the filter when i was using it. Its good to experiment and try different things

michelleans: Thanks for that glad you liked it

jb7: Yea a little heavy toned possibly. On the web i go a bit mad sometimes. When i go to print it will be a normal B&W. Not sure how this one will print. The black skies and the post processing was done in bibble. If i had done it in PS the sky would not have been so black. When i get PS i’ll be reprocessing it. I didn’t take any pics of Donard. I have lots of pics though on slide, would have to dig one out. Donards a fairly boring looking mountain though i think. No rocky tors or anything on it, but you can see the Isle of Man on a good day from it:-) Not much snow I am afraid had all melted away only a few blobs here and there on the mountains. Slieve Binnian i think is the 3rd highest would have to look at a map. Its a real nice mountain. The top of it is full of rocky tors, possibly the nicest top in the mournes

    Thanks again all

Cheers Martin- I have some pictures of the Mournes,
but they’re the sweeping down to the sea ones-
and a picture of the highest mountain in the range would be so much better-

I don’t suppose, if you get a chance,
you could put one of them in Rob’s Movie Extras thread? https://www.photographyireland.net/viewtopic.php?t=13041

    Thanks Martin-

Love this one Martin. I think the black skys are what make IR photography so different and attractive. They aren’t anywhere near reality so the blacker the better I say. The tone – maybe a slight overdone but I wouldn’t call it a negative in any way. Keep them coming and don’t worry about the colour until the summer comes in…about 2011 according to Met Eireann. Great stuff.

Thanks for that Guys. Yea the sky looks a bit mad in it, it took me by surprise when i opened it on the computer first. Below is a colour shot with some of the same cloud in the sky so you can see the difference

    Thanks again
PS: Did a print of the above on A4, looks great and the toning looks good in print also i think
