A view across to the Mournes and Newcastle from Killough in Co Down.
Conditions weren’t the greatest at this moment so i had a go at a 3 minute exposure taken using the LEE 10 stop filter.
Thanks for looking and as always comments appreciated. :)

    Brilliant as always Gary.

I got me a B+W version of the 10 stopper and am having lots of fun with it. I’m going to try it later with a red filter giving me 13 stops of light reduction.

ps – Well done on the 4th place in “Practical Photography’s” B&W competition. I love that magazine.

Thanks very much Brendan and Sinead :)
The 10 stopper is a great filter Brendan, i know some people dont like that type of image but there is no denying you can get some dramatic results in less than favorable conditions.

    Gary,

I love this, its another winner for me!

The composition is spot on, the mountain nicely balancing the inlet.

A couple of things you might check. I get the impression that the horizon is leaning ever so slightly. Ive scrolled up and down a few times but cant be sure….. worth a check.

Also there seems to be a bit of a halo around the rocks on the left which could be improved?

    Brilliant.

Hi Gary, Great shot as ever. There does appear to be some level of barrelling? Easily tweaked in PSHop as its very slight. One thing I would say is that although you have captured a text book third of sky I actually want to see more…..or less in this photo as it feels cut. I am nitpicking here of course :-)

    Thanks everyone:)

A couple of you have mentioned about the horizon leaning. I think it is a bit of an illusion as it is straight untill you get to the right side of the mountains and then the coastline angles around towards my direction.

    Thanks for the comments

    Gary
