Mournes Road Conditions

Any of you guys know what the road conditionds around the Mournes are like as i was
thinking of heading that way on Thursday morning.

and she will be able to tell you where is good for driving and where to stay away from

Sorry Mick, only just spotted this. Did you make it up?

I’d imagine the roads weren’t too bad today, there has been a lot of rain.
The roads from Hilltown to Spelga, and Spelga to Newcastle had been clear, but the PSNI had them closed on saturday night, and perhaps sunday morning too, I’m almost certain that none of the roads were treated that evening, so maybe that was why.

Some of the smaller roads might still have icy patches, Head rd etc…

Cheers Cathal and Sinead it was a spur of the moment thing so just headed on up there today
it was nice around Rostrevor and then headed for the silent valley but there was dense mist/fog
so had to give that a miss and then went on towards Castlewellen the the roads were ok only came
across one road which had a lot of snow on it. Not had time to look at all of the shots yet only just
in from work.
