Mozilla Firefox vs. Photography Ireland

I am using the latest version of Mozilla Firefox as web browser.
Very often the browser stop responding when I try to open some pages from Photography Ireland.

Is someone has the similar experience or I have to do something in my PC?

    Thanks.

I use firefox and the only time it is slow is when it tries to open PDF’s. Haven’t had problems with PI since Mark moved to the new hosts.

Thanks Dee, Brian and Vitoldus for the reply.
I think, I have some problem here in my PC…..

If some computer genius read this maybe can have some solution.
Here are some info what I think will need to resove the problem:
    – I have windows XP, with daily upgrate,
    – Mozilla Firefox is upgrated,
    – if I close the FF without using the Windows task manager and try to open again, have message that FF is running and can’t open new one (something running in the backround but can’t see that in the Task manager),
    – sometimes the windows close down the FF,
    – I use tabs in FF,
    – I have only open Outlook express(active) and windows live messanger (not logged in) the same time,
    – I reformated the PC few weeks ago… and used licensed Window XP.

I have to very often use the Task manger to close FF and open again. It is not very good….. :(

Please!!! you who is perfect in PC-es… HELP!!!!! :P

    Thanks a lot in advance!

Roberto, did you have this problem before and after formatting the drive and rebuilding the machine?

I used IE before but changed to FF because of testing my new websites….. and like FF more now… :-))

OK Roberto, what I would do if I was you is completely uninstall FF and reinstall it. Sounds like its just a software malfunction and is not closing down properly, but a reinstall should sort that out.

    Roberto,

I used FF in work and IE7 at home. I was using FF at home until recently when for no good reason it’s decided
to freeze for a few seconds on all sites. CPU usage goes through the use. Seems that its an issue some folk are getting
but doesn’t seem to be any resolution that I could find.

I know thats no help other than to know that your not alone ;)

The best solution to all of this is to use Opera!

It never breaks!! oh how i love it!

Firefox has lot’s of great features, but unfortunately memory management isn’t one of them and there are countless articles on the www regarding Firefox memory leaks. I find that if I’ve been using Firefox for an extended period and with multiple tabs open it can really start to hog memory and get to a stage where it doesn’t even close down properly. The only solution then is to go into the Windows Task Manager to shut down the Firefox process. There’s more on reducing memory usage at http://kb.mozillazine.org/Memory_Leak.

If I feel I’m going to be browsing memory intensive sites, then I will fire up Opera. It’s a fantastic browser, very fast and I love the way it shows the FULL SCREEN when you switch to full-screen mode.

I’m interested in hearing more. I use Firefox and have never had a problem
and have never seen the memory leaks that one hears about. You’re not
running a beta version are you?

I used to get memory leaks with Mozilla sometimes, but I changed to Firefox
when it was on version 0.7 or something and have never looked back. Safari
for XP is bit buggy as far as I can see. I use it for testing sites, but it’s not 100%
    reliable. Opera seems good.

I also use a privacy program called the Proxomitron on Windows (and Privoxy on Linux).
These are fully configurable and read the webpage before you do so they can strip
out all the sh1te like Flash movies and animated GIFs. This will help keep the browser
running smoothly because it doesn’t get bogged down with stupid adverts and movies.
