Multimedia Graphics Tablet.

SeaviewParticipant
Thinking of getting one of these in Lidl next week :D , does anyone use one for editing images. Would you recommend one over the standard mouse.

Thanks.
Dave.miki gParticipantHi Dave.
I bought a Wacom one about 6 months ago. Used it twice & put it away. Found it harder to use than a mouse, but it would give a lot more control when editing (if you take the time to practice with it) It’s a good price & could be good value.connieParticipantI have the wacom bamboo and it is great for editing. I did find initially it took quite some time to get used to the pen as a mouse. I kept clicking when I didn’t need to etc but with practice it does become second nature. You can also still have the mouse connected at the same time as the pen and switch between them both effortlessly.
Stuff from lidl’s can be great and if you don’t like it they do refund fairly easily. But it may be worth pricing the wacom range as they are far superior to silvercrest.
Or maybe Miki might sell you his one for a good price lolclimberhuntParticipantI’d recommend sticking with the mainstream brands such as Wacom. I picked up a Wacom Bamboo in aldi a couple of years ago for €49.99. They can be got in PCWorld for €79.99. I think that’ll get you a Bamboo Touch.
Wacom have a great reputation for reliability and accuracy in graphics tablets.
Oh, and I use it all the time now. Photoshop work is just not the same without it.
Dave.stcstcMemberi use a wacom, and the first few days were a pain, but if you stick at it, it will click
i dont use a mouse at all now on my main desktop machines
i would say i have had about 3 or 4 of the cheaper ones, and they were rubbish compared to the wacom
SeaviewParticipantThanks for the comments lads, I might hold off for a while so and wait for a better option to come along.
Dave.
aitch3ParticipantClimberhunt hit the nail on the head there. Wacom is the daddy, and adjusting skin in Photoshop is where the tablet excels, once you get used to it that is. Don’t use Photoshop? maybe hold off then.
edg3ParticipantI’d a wacom one for a while. loved it but never used it so i sold it to a friend who does more artsy thing. Mouse and adjustable dpi works for me :)
