Munster vs Connaught, Rabo Pro 12.

Gortan60Participant
A few from Munster vs Connaught Rabo game at Musgrave Park on Saturday night. My eyesight must be playing tricks on me because I thought I had fixed the horizon issues I was having, but they look crooked here again. Time for a return visit to Specsavers!
Still using the 1D Mk 2 N, along with the 70-200 f4 L; which I know I should upgrade to the 2.8 or even get a 300mm; fact is, finances still do not allow it.
C and C as always. Thanks folks.
Most are on Shutter Priority, 1/500 sec.

petereoinMemberHi Gerry;
I assume you were accredited to shoot the Munster match. Nice set of photos for the lens you were using.
As mentioned about accreditation, I would review the guidelines again for photographers, so you won’t be doing anything you are not suppose to be doing.Gortan60ParticipantSeaviewParticipantI think what Peter is hinting at, is that you’re not allowed to post images on open forums. I could be wrong.
All great shots by the way, the last one is a money shot.
Dave.
paulParticipantYou are allowed post on open fora. The only body that doesn’t allow that is the IRFU for senior international games.
For RaboDirect Pro12 games, you can post them here.
Decent set of images there. Again, watch your horizons. With image 4 I would crop in tighter.
SeaviewParticipantGortan60ParticipantThanks lads, that puts my mind at rest ! The last thing I wanted was to get into hot water with the Munster folks, as they are a decent bunch to deal with.
So, as far as you guys are aware, it is ok to post away? Soccer, Rugby and so on? So long as we do not openly advertise them for sale or imply same? I have a few decent ones from cork City game earlier today, might post later.
Oh God! My horizons are awful, I know that1 I’m trying to find a software prog that will do it automatically as I just cannot get in right in Aperture.
Thanks for the comments, ya, the POC one is my favourite from the set, the place went wild when he scored.
Thanks again.
Gerry
munsterman28ParticipantHi Gortan,
Nice set of images. Im accredited with Munster rugby too for some of the games.
Im shooting with a 7D and a 100-400mmL F4-5.6. I am always envious too of the pro’s, for really tip top sports shots, especially under lights I think you definetly need F2.8. But as you said budgets don’t allow so we make do. Its a great learning experience though to start with a ‘poorer’ lense and move upwards. When I started the lenses I were using were not great but it makes you think about ISO, shutter speeds and how they are related etc a lot more
munsterman28ParticipantAnd another thing. The red wall in Musgrave Park does nothing for photos. Its far from straight and can make horizons look completely off…..

Oh that red wall, I’d love to knock it down and get some unemployed builder friends of mine to rebuild it and make a nice straight top on it!! You’re right, it only adds more confusion to the horizon problem.
I’m happy with the f4 for daylight work, it’s superb; I might be able to jump to the f2.8 by end of year, along with a 1.4 converter.
I took some pics at Cork City soccer match yesterday and the only PP I had to do was a little cropping here and there.
Must meet up at next Munster game we are both at, thanks for the kind comments re the pics.
