Mussenden Reflections – 2 New Photos
-
SteveDParticipant
I was lucky enough to get some nice light on the north coast this evening. The post title refers to the first photo, but I would welcome feedback on any of them.
PS: Has anyone else noticed that Flickr now seems to be compressing images a little more than usual? i.e. not as sharp as the web versions you have on your PC.
Mussenden Reflections
Golden light strikes the cliffs at Benone Strand, illuminating Musenden Temple perched above them.
Binevenagh
Warm light illuminates the cliffs of Binevenagh Mountain on this August evening.
Skerries and Mull of Kintyre
Taken from Gortmore Viewpoint in County Londonderry, this photograph shows the Skerries island chain which lies just off the coast of Portrush, Northern Ireland, and the distant mountains of Kintyre, Scotland. Using a 500mm lens has compressed the distance well here – would you believe the distant shore is 50 miles from where I am standing?
Islay and Jura from Benone
The distant Scottish islands of Islay and Jura, part of the Inner Hebrides, are easily visible on one of the clearest days of the year so far. This shot was taken from over 50 miles away using a 500mm lens.
Benone Twilight
A long exposure at twilight reveals hidden colours in the sky and sand at Benone Strand, County Londonderry.
Thanks,
StephenIsabellaParticipant1 has nice color but the central composition is a bit deadening… the small element of the temple is not enough to overcome all the rest of the lines…
2 is nice
3 is a really stunning image i love the flattening and the colors. the rocks in the foreground are extremely effective, mirroring the furthest mountains
4 i would chop off some of the sea at the bottom. i love the colors though, that blue with the orange sky, really nice
5 while i like the colors theres not really anything in the scene for me
over all my favorite is 3
SteveDParticipantThanks for taking the time to comment on all of them Isabella. Number 3 is my favourite too.
oreillyfotografParticipantSteveDParticipantSteveDParticipantbigalguitarpickerParticipantI love your image of the Skerries and Mull of Kintyre. That would look good printed big and hanging on the wall!
trancemanMember3rd and 7th are great
1st in my opinion is missing a bit of clarity/sharpnessGary McParlandParticipantThe Skerries and Mull of Kintyre image is definitely my favourite, totally agree that it would look great large on the wall.
