Hi all, took this shot this morning at a lake in Clonmel.

BeefFantastic focus on this Beef! But it looks dark on my screen
can you brighten it a bit? The droplets of water are pin sharp
but cant see much detail on his face.I like the tones-
especially the colour of the backround-

Cheers for the feedback guys. To be honest Shutterbug I intentionally went for understated tones, although maybe I have overcooked the desaturation a bit… I moght have another play around with this and see what I can come up with! Thanks again!

Hope you dont mind I had a go myself, not very good
at it I know but it is a learning curve for me too!The original was too dark for me. That edit really brings out the shot. Nice job Shutterbug … brough out the light, kept the detail and very little noise as punishment.
Am I the only one urging that droplet to fall..? :lol:
Nice shot Beef…lovely and sharp and agree with Ron on the DOF…Excellent. Shutterbugs edit is great as well…cos it looked very dark on my laptop as well…(not the best screen admittedly).

8)I agree with suterbugs edit. I too, found the original too dark and toned down but if you were after a particular look you had in your mind and achieved it then thats fair enough, it just doesn’t really work for me I’m afraid. On the other hand the detail and sharpness is spot on, the feather texture looks well and the leathery black bit ( I’m sure it has a proper name, excuse my ignorance :) ) has lots of detail.
Great shot beef nice sharpness but I have to say the edit from shutterbug adds to the pic big time

The shutterbug version does nothing for me (sorry!). It just looks like any half decent head shot of a swan.
The original intrgues me a little more. I think if the contrast was upped a little on the top shot I’d like it more even still.
In fact… I’m off to edit my own version!! lol
