My cousin needs advice- new camera for ?800- which one?

No allegiences,
probably slr type,
must feel good,
not too small,
complete baginner,
max 800-
including kit lens-If anyone has any suggestions,

You can buy the Canon EOS 400D with kit lens actually from DIXONS for 799 euro
sure if you shop around you might find it a little cheaper
that camera is being raved about in all the mags etc(well all the ones i have read recently)
