Good shot, I like the angle you chose…my preference would be to see more darkness in the shot.. maybe some levels adjustment if you were inclined , just to bring the mood nd decay out a little more.
Welcome to the the forum … happy hunting ;)
Lorraine
ciaranParticipantWelcome to the forum Joe and a very nice shot to introduce yourself with. Great contrast, great perspective, nice conversion.. very nice shot.
joe_elwayParticipantThanks folks. Those are two familiar names (Phototakers).
Definitely see what you mean Lorraine. I toyed with that shot a lot trying to figure out what I wanted from it. I had it darker, brighter, all over the place. Maybe I’ll have another toy with it :-)
ciaranParticipantI thought I recognised the name before
Good to see you finally come over

I think I know what you mean……..photographers??
(only kidding)RobertoMemberHow I said in your introduction, I love this photo.
You may try to crop the bottom up to the white ‘thing’ (incl. it). I think it will come up more focused on the wreck and sky.FlipflipParticipantLoGill wrote:

I totally agree, a little more dark would be more to my preference.
Great shot all the same though, love the angle.
Noely FParticipantThe composition is spot on, agree that maybe a tonal adjustment would help. Well taken
stuttterMemberhi Joe,
great shot. love the angle!
Think the contrast on the top half of the boat is fantastic. Unfortunately it becomes a little flat towards the bottom. Although the old tyres are an interesting addition I’d be inclined to crop them out and leave the emphasis a little higher up.
welcome
joe_elwayParticipantThanks for the C&C folks. I think I’ll have to revisit this one. Dang, I need more hours in the day! :-)
SteveDParticipantJoe, keep an eye open for the second round of the competition. The theme is ‘Decay.’ May be a shot worth entering.

joe_elwayParticipantThanks for the tip Steve. I’m trying to drum up ideas for this month. Unfortunately, only the obvious ideas are coming to me.
