My Groyne

Alan RossiterParticipant
I’ll follow trends too! I thought I’d posted this one before but couldn’t find it. This was an early attempt at a long exposure which used a welders mask to block the light. at a cost of €1 it was a good alternative.

jessthespringerParticipantOoooh, I like that, very nice Alan. Really like the tones, and the composition.
And, a welders mask, really? I’m impressed!I think the border might be a bit ott though, I might have liked a smaller plain white one.
Shouldn’t this be in the landscape forum?

ExpresbroParticipantAlan…you need to go and see a Doctor immediately!!

5faytheParticipantA welders mask eeh! (Spoken in Homer Simpson accent)
Now theres an idea.
There seems to have been an underground groyne club here all along. :)
John.
Alan RossiterParticipantWhen I did them they were called the break waters. Slightly less innuendo-ish…just slightly.
And Robbie – what ever do you mean???
ExpresbroParticipantAye..this Groin..oops!!… Groyne thing is getting out of hand…as it were… ;-)
I just hope nobody starts posting pics of clarified butter indian style, or those robes that Karate people wear..or Mark might have to shut the forums down…!!

We need a PI section on Irish Groynes, to compete with the birds.
RestlessNativeMemberI like the simplicity but I would probably have square cropped to remove the horizon.
Welder’s mask, great idea!

Yep – horizon should have gone, I agree.
As for the welders mask – the glass can be got from any weld supply for €1 and fits the Cokin P-system perfectly. The drawbacks are that it isn’t anti-reflective so any light can reflect inside the lens off the glass and on to your sensor…handy if you want a picture of how your lens is made, not handy if you want a picture of anything else. Also everything is green. It works out about 15-stops…that’s a long day.
