Lovely image Roberto, very nice indeed, perfect composition and a very clever crop too. I wonder if it would be possible to bring out a little more detail in the Abbey by increasing the contrast a little and maybe a bit of localised sharpening? Really well spotted though. These are the kind of images tourists would snap up in no time.
Thanks Rob for the comment.
Your suggestion can be done and maybe will improve the photo but I can’t at the moment because still learning to use the elements.
Quin Abbey is indeed lovely. Nicely framed shot. It’s definitely worth visiting at the magic hour with all that masonry, although even at high noon there are great interior shadow and light shots to be had. I was there last Friday (I think, or Thursday) and had the opportunity to do an American lady my good deed for the day. There she was, 350D and “all-purpose” Tamron 28-300 in hand, and struggling to fit in a wide shot of the tower from inside. “Hi”, says Steve, “would you like to borrow a 17-40 to fit that thing in one frame?” We had a nice chat and she got her shot.
What goes around comes around. A nice PJ from the Clare Champion let me borrow his 24-70L for a few portrait shots in Scariff in the summer, so I think all Canon shooters should be equally graceful.
