Some images from today using a new MT-24EX Flash with Gary Fong Puffer diffusers and MP-E 65 lense. :)
I have to say, I can see the improvement in light quality over the MR-14EX.
Thanks for looking.
Dave OSI’ve searched high and low for an ID for this big Fly. :?: Almost 2cm long.
Small bee with yellow face – Male Hylaeus
Need an ID for this guy too. :)
BrickeeParticipantDave, These are insane. I can’t wait to see what’s next.
You are the Bug Man.Jim
PeteTheBlokeMemberThese pictures are amazing. Your macro shots are very very good.
There are some good entomologists at http://www.wildaboutbritain.co.uk who may ID them for you.
osheadParticipantThanks Jim. Just trying to keep the faith. :)
Thanks for the comment and link Pete. I’ll pop over and have a look.

Thanks again for that Pete.
I found an ID for #1 and #2 in Wild about Britian forum. Seems it’s a Hoverfly – Volucella pellucens. Interesting species. You can read more on Wikipedia.Seems #5 and #6 is a Blowfly…..
Cheers

A few weeks ago there was a photo there of a willow warbler or chiffchaff and the poster
asked which it was (they’re notoriously difficult to separate unless they sing for you).
One guy answered, “Dunno, but the fly in its beak is a Rhagio scolopaceus“.mgstParticipantosheadParticipantThanks for the comment Mick. :)
Pete, it dosn’t susprise me. The knowledge there is very broad. Really very useful site. I owe you one. :)
