This is without a doubt one of the best shots I have ever seen on this site. Absolute class!
Frame it & hang it with pride. Absolutely beautiful.

Real nice. Not sure if I like the B&W as I’d imagine nice warm tones here.. Great detail and lovely shot overall :)

    nice portrait and composition,

Was it a bare speedlight to front? An umbrella might have lessened the shadow on nose and given larger catchlight in the eyes. i too would like to see the colour version

Stunning image. Her parents must be very pleased.

Great image but I agree about the light and shadows on the front. If you didn’t have or want to use a softbox on the front, a reflector below chest level could have provided a better quality catchlight

Thanks a million for your comments.

I used 2 off camera speed lights – as described above.

The scene was a chaotic one – 10 nephews and nieces in a playroom on St Stephens day – and the ‘model’ just has to see each picture after i took it – so she wouldn’t sit in the same pose.

Also my first time using a twin light setup – and learning to use the ST-E2 transmitter on the fly. I do have a reflector which I’ll try at the next birthday party.

    Thanks again – bren
