Lovely shots and the unusual angles make them different from normal family snapshots.

    Hi Ola.
The use of the very low shooting angle as used in #1 would be unusual & wouldn’t normally work due to the head being much smaller than the foot & it’s unusual for kids to be looking down at adults. You have gotten away with it in this one though as the angle helps to show the location where the shot was taken. The strings of his hat are blocking his face however & the light is quiet harsh.
#2 is a nice shot, but I think it would have been better to have taken it in portrait format as the top of his head & legs are cropped from the shot. He doesn’t seem to be camera shy anyway. Well done

    Hi Ola,

Photographs of our children are all precious regardless of technical imperfections.
I recently trawled through 1000s of negatives, prints and digital files to pick a
selection for my youngest son’s 21st birthday.
Even the bad ones were good and great to have.

Of course photographs for public consumption generally need to be a little
more than photographs of our children.

Seeing everything that you have included in you viewfinder is something
that will come with practice and experience.
Our eyes/brain seem to be able to blank out or ignore anything that is
    not relevant.
The camera, of course, will record everything that is in the frame when
you press the shutter release button.

These are not bad photographs and well worth keeping.
You have a willing and photogenic subject there and with careful use of the
advice you get here and plenty of practice you will no doubt produce pictures
that not only look well in the family album but will be a treat for people
who are not family to view as well.

    Good luck.

    John.
