My world tour of the N3

I droped my brother in law off at dublin airport and started taking a few shots as i worked my way back home despite the elements, new road building that leads you to the back of beyond and bursting a tyre on the best tarmac a man can get in modern ireland :P  :x

I also poped into nude but martin was not there (well it was early)

then i spotted this (best train spoters accent) and noticed a fella with a tripod over the road but decieded not to talk to him as he had obviously been drinking and needed a tripod to keep his hands steady :) joking honest!

More to follow :) but i am too tired might and i reprocess these shots when more able etc

And then I set sail for home and took quite a few pictures on the way anyone spotted this on the N3 I forget where exactly though

    more on the way :)

Must say.. nice little collection going on here Pit.

The Irish Yeast is a classic… would’ve like to have seen it fill the frame and less of the two adjacent buildings.

The Liffey shot has a lovely serene effect… beautiful colours.

The run down cottage has that nice rural Ireland quirk to it that I quiet like… not as good as the quirky cinema… but very nice nonetheless.

The other two wouldn’t appeal to me as much.

Not much of a critique there… there just nice, pleasant images that tell a story… not looking for technical perfection… just “nice little Irish photographs”.

What, only two from the N3? I expected a full set…

I recognise the tractor sculpture. It’s just across the road from
the County Club just before Dunshaughlin. Keep meaning to photograph
    it myself…

Like the derelict cottage. Pick of the bunch for me…

p.s. if I have to choose..which I will…just so you know…love the funky cottage

The tractor sculpture is squashed in a bit by the fence and an overly friendly digger so that was the best angle given the sun at the time.

So then went to Tara, I took the kite cam along but the light was totaly wrong for it so settled for this

Then I burst my tire here just before i saw this I also saw a little house with a castle tower house in its back garden which i wanted to photograph but noone was in and I am to darn polite to go climbing in peoples gardens uninvited etc

Another ruin in a bit got to put the kids bikes together again…

Now was this a weekend ramble or a drive home from the airport? I’m taken by the wide range of interesting and different scenes you came across; don’t we live on a wonderfully diverse island! As a beginner I’m not too clever with critique; I do know what I like and I like your style!

A very pleasent set and I enjoyed looking through them. The boats on the Liffey woul stand out for me but they all have their own attributes and I like the lot.

They where all taken on the way home, I am one of those people who go “ooh! whats that over there where does that road go” etc etc much to my wifes annoyment :).

There where a few other things i would have taken photos of if I could have gotten access or in one case the apparent owner of three very interesting old petrol pumps looked a little scary so thought better of it :)

I read somewhere… maybe on your Flickr that you are a Brummie Pit?

I was born in Birmingham and spent the first 8 years of my life living in Mosely. Many friends and family back in Birmingham & Coventry (just up the road). I go back over every now and again. Some accent… mine’s long gone… Ozzie never lost his.

Yes I am a Brummie I am from Handsworth the funny thing was people there thought I talked posh… anyway I have also worked in coventry city centre for a few years.

I think my accent is not too bad mind you could be worse I could have a black country accent… westbromwich out to wolverhampton (its another country :))
