I know its the same subject matter but thought id post a more up to date image.
Casually taking a few snaps at home and captured the moment when she suddenly turns inquisitively to the camera and lens and comes in for a nosy, i thought it a nice image.

Feel free to offer and advice and help on improving my images, all comments are welcome.
Thanks for the nice comments on my last image.

Thats a lovely expression dribbles and all :) just watch out for blown hightlights
on the cheek, always easier to under expose and brighten rather than deal with
blown highlights, disfusing the light on that side might have helped, but a lovely
    shot all the same.

If you look at the cheek that has the light on it, it looks really bright almost
glaring and again on Nanny’s collar you can see the same thing, it is when the
dynamic range of the camera cant cope with all the different tones and will
meter for the average light in the frame, consequently when there is a very
bright bit it overexposes. Our eyes are far superior to the camera so we
dont see it the same way, so check after the shot look at the histogram it will
tell you if the highlights are blown, I know its difficult when taking pictures of
kiddies as the moment is gone so quick, but diffusing the light if it is bright
by a white sheet over the window or even a sheet of paper will help a lot.

First walk over to the left side and aim the camera onto the strongest high-light to see what Speed on the AV (something like 400 sec) then change your camera to M and set those speed to (400 sec) then back to where you are then snap! Careful with t he F-Stop as you dont want a darker shadow on the right side of the face..

Hope that can do the trick!!
