Was in London yesterday and couldn’t resist not to re-visit the NHM and see my old relatives on display there 8)
b318ispParticipant121FOTOParticipantTripod in a museum in UK? You will be shot on the spot for that 8) For using a monopod you will be beaten to death :)..with the monopod.
All the shots are hand-held with the exception of the one with the couple, which was taken with the camera resting on the parapet.
Thank you for your comments.PeteWMemberIt’s been years since I’ve been to the NHM. Great place.
Like these shots in particular the bottom one which wouldn’t be out of place in a “where am I” thread ! Good use of the person for scale.
#3 is also very “lively” although it takes a while for the eye to settle on the couple that aren’t moving.
Well done with these, and thanks for jogging some childhood memories of mad school trips :D
121FOTOParticipantwirepicParticipantI see some barrel distortion towards the bottom of #1. I’m sure that’s easily cured with whatever software you’re using.
#2 I like for it’s simplicity.
#3 I like also. Good to get the static couple in among all the other movement. However there’s something funny about the photo that I can’t quite put my finger on. It could be oversharpened, I’m not sure. It’s hard to judge at this size.
#4 Again I like because of the sheer simplicity.
121FOTOParticipantCheers Fergus.
yes. you are right..there is some barrel distortion on no.1. Capture nx should cure that quite easy. The no.3 has a problem I have to admit. I tried to emphasise the couple and think I over-brushed them with to much light. They look a bit like they have been “cut and paste” there. I have been through quite a few options and I am still unhappy with the final result. back to the drawing board (wacom :) ) tonight.
Thank you for your input.
