Nature or Abstract?

Haven’t posted on here in quite some time, mainly because I haven’t been taking too many photos over the last while! Thought would make an effort and head out with the camera today though, and what better way to return to PI than to post a photo ;)
Wasn’t entirely sure whether this one should have been in nature or abstract, but I feel abstract as I had taken the photo with the intention of it being an abstract image. I just really loved the peeling bark on this tree, think its the contrast between the colours. I know its nothing technically, but I was spending the day looking for the less obvious and this is the best I got. Please feel free to make any comments, thanks.
miki gParticipantI like this shot, but the reason is unknown. Maybe it’s the tones, colours, lighting, composition or the subject itself. Maybe it’s all of them? Whatever the reason it looks good and I like it. Well done.
PD_BARBSParticipant5faytheParticipantHi suspectmonkey,

I hope it wasn’t something I said. :?
Anyway it’s nice to see you back. :)I really like this.
It brings to mind some of those fantastic aerial views I have
scene of remote mountains or landscapes.Theres’s nice even light across the frame which I think suits.
Its very interesting.
Well done.

Thanks for the comments, I was kinda fond of this photo but wasn’t entirely sure if it was something that just appealed to me. Oddly it reminds me of those paintings of “The Scream” although something tells me it wont live quite as long in the memory :D
CooksterParticipantNice , thought it was a horse as the image was revealing itself, the joys of a slow connection.
Like the milky whites and rusty reds
