Im after picking up a Canon 100-400mm L lense, and basically, I use it for automotive racing, and with the likes of panning and such I need to drop the amount of light entering.
But heres my question,
All the filters out there tend to say, image quality will drop after 200mm and thats no good to me either…?
Is there anyone out there that has experience with this, and could point in the direction of a good brand..?
If you are panning you definately don’t need to use a ND filter…with cars that are going at a fast enough pace you would need to be panning at anything from 1/30 sec to 1/125 of a sec to get a sharp image….using f8 or f11 will give you that speed on a bright day at ISO 100…just play around with you settings…no need at all for a ND filter….change the aperture…ISO settings to get the desired shutter speed.
