Smashing Portrait Dave, woulda cloned out the small mark on the nostril and the white mark on the left eyebrow but thats just me.. :wink:

I love your perspective on this – I really like the close crop and placing the eyes on the diagonal.. I think the skin tone is a little flat .. it could probably be adjusted in levels and a bit of dodging and bruning around the eyes .. the white t-shirt looks very bright in comparison to the face and eyes in particular..

hey Dave, lovely shot :). The shot is perfectly exposed, however, it looks like you’ve exposed for the white tshirt. If you create a mask, bring in the white point to expose for the babies face, and brush in the detail on the tshirt you’ll be left with a much more appealing image. I’ve tried it myself with this image and you’re left with great tonal range, which is necessary for a good b/w image. I’m more than happy to send you on a psd file which will probably give you a better explanation :)
Good shot of a cute baby! Maybe adjust is slightly as Lorraine and Ali have suggested, but I like the expression you’ve caught here!
