Though I am not quite a total newbie to photography, I’m the next best thing, I dabbled for a short time some years ago, but slipped out of the hobby, but now I’m back.
For the past quarter of a century I was an amateur astromoner, astronomy has lost the appeal for me so I’m back with photography. I am currently in the process of selling my astronomy equipment with the intention of purchasing some photographic gear with the proceeds.
Browsing the forum I can see that the images are superb, the advice excellent and that I am going to feel at home.
I am lucky in the respect that I work in a PLC college in south Dublin and one of the courses is photography. The people who teach the course are really helpful with advice and it is to them that I am going with regards of what equipment to purchase.
Just a little note to get me started on what I hope will be the first of many posts.
Hi Paul. Welcome to the site. Why not try some astronomy photography? We don’t see very much of it here & it could be the best of both worlds. (pun intended)
I intend to attempt some astronomical associated images such as conjuntions between the moon and planets and meteor showers. I really like the images of either a very young moon or very old moon in the early evening twilight or the pre dawn skies, I would like to try something along those lines.
