New Canon Bodies

There’s been rumours for months now about a new 1D mk III, 5D mk II and “40D”. Canon are briefing dealers around the world during this coming week. There’s a big conference in a few weeks in Vegas where it’s thought they’ll be made available to the public.

anti-dustI have a feeling that a 5d replacement will not happen until later in the year Aug/Sep.
40D should be here soon but who knows, maybe March, maybe September. Basically a 400d in a 30D body but with digic III.

I noticed today that Jessops online is completely out of stock on both the 1D bodies.
It looks like there is a launch of 1 DSL body coming up very soon in the UK. Probably another 1 or two in Vegas just afterwards. I just want news on the 1D mk II N and whether it’s being replaced or not so I know if I should buy now, wait until I’m in the USA in May or … wait :-(

I think the 1dmkiii is almost a given for vegas, with 10fps 10mp 1.255 ISO6400 and 19 cross type focussing sensors.

Ah… now that’s where the technology comes into it’s own, as the camera is equipped with the latest MoodSensor(TM) technology which automatically ‘locks on’ to the user’s mood swi, err, preference of choice and will place an order for a pizza defined in one of 17 built-in CustomMood(TM) profiles. A firmware update is in development to allow users to choose between deep pan and thin crust base pizza.
