i guess, since i’ve now made quite a number of comments id better introduce myself.. Hello All! my name is isabella and I’m currently based in limerick city studying for a degree in fine art at LSAD. photography is the main focus of my work, though i do this through the printmaking department… I’ve been taking pictures since early childhood, and though i do own and occasionally use a digital SLR my passion is for film. I love black and white and traditional printing methods, the darkroom for me is a place of magic and deep meditation but in the last month I’ve begun to experiment with color (120 format, any smaller doesn’t really stand up to enlargement as far as I’m concerned, i was most disappointed to discover that it cannot be bought over the counter in this city). what with studying and all i do a lot of reading on the history of photography etc, and joined this site as a first step in taking part in the discourse around contemporary photography in ireland. Seems like a great place to potentially meet similar minded people and/or gain invaluable critique on current work! my web presence is pretty much non existent so it may be a while before i provide my own images for crit. anyway, thanks for reading!
