    A new photo book on the Burren, that famous limestone karst landscape in the West of Ireland, has been published by the Collins Press, titled “The Fertile Rock – Seasons in the Burren”. It is available in all good bookshops or directly from the publisher: http://www.collinspress.ie

    I’ve just spent the last hours leafing through this book. Fantastic! Really wonderful book! Some of the best irish landscape photography I’ve seen easily. I think the best shots compare favourably with Tom Kelly’s work in “Legendary Ireland”. Particular favourites were;

    . The ix- x double spread shot of Mullaghmore with the lough. Pity about the s. imposed text! A wonderful shot though.

    . The leftmost shot of Keelhilla on page 136. Would love to see it larger. Superb shot.

    . All four shots on 132-133 are stunning. Particulary the two large overcast lake shots. Just so mystical and evocative.

    . All of the shots on spread 112-113 are wonderful, but most of all the 112 top pavement shot. Entrancing.

    Well I could really go on far too long here so I’ll stop now. The whole book is fabulous.
