Looks like Sony are really snapping at Canon’s heels with there latest sensor. Watch out Canon.

I also hear that Sony are going to use the same technology to produce a wall-sized Flat Screen TV.

One of the selling points will be that you will be able to choose exactly when to watch your favourite programs – even before they’re transmitted, if that’s what you want.

I had heard this technology would be tested on cinema sceenings before being released for general sale.

Check out the review on the link above of the new Nikon D90 dSLR

Unfortunately, as a day job – I design microchips and believe me, there’s no such thing as NO noise. The amount of noise is a trade off against things like power consumption, geometry/sensor size amongst others.

Besides, reading further down in the article gives us a few hints to it’s authenticity

One of the benefits of a black hole, is its ability to distort time and space. They’ve used the black hole’s distortion of time to speed up image processing. What Sony have done, is to cleverly place the image processor, transfer pipeline, and memory card inside the event horizon of the sensor. This effectively gives the next Sony DSLR infinite time to process each image, opening up a world of advanced processing options.

Great find Brian. Had a good laugh over lunch reading this. Obviously written by someone who has too much time on their hands and doesn’t like Canon, Nikon or Sony much – he’s had a little go at each of them. :!:

Have you read the Canon info on the same website?

Canon introduces a ‘raspberry button’ to blow a raspberry at anyone who harrasses you…..

    “Two new utility buttons
Canon introduced the print button to its DSLRs, and their competitors still haven’t caught up. Now Canon raises the bar even further by introducing two brand-new utility buttons…

    Raspberry button
    Colour button
The raspberry button (i.e. Bronx Cheer) is something we’ve needed for a long time.

How often have you been quietly taking photos in a public place, when some obnoxious person comes along and starts harassing you? Now you need not even waste the air in your lungs when dealing with such people. Simply press the Raspberry button, and your Rebel Ye11 will make the appropriate response for you.

The colour button is extremely useful when the person who is harassing you, isn’t impressed by the long slow raspberry your DSLR has just directed at them. If they don’t get the joke, you could be in for a rough ride! But don’t worry, Canon has always taken their customer’s safety very seriously indeed. Simply press the colour button and all will be well.

This changes the colour of your DSLR from black to lavender, which is thought to be very soothing. Your angry encounter will quickly work itself out, and you’ll probably find yourself invited to a local organic cafe for a nutritious mug of dandelion tea.”

Honestly Ciaran, how much “design” could possible go into making these….me thinks you are boasting a bit! :P

Ah the joy of ignorance :) Do you realise how difficult it is to cut potatoes that straight and then have them processed in such a way that when they’re microwaved they don’t make a jot of noise  ?

if nobody hears the noise, does the noise actually occur…… mmmm.
