Hi
Trip into town today. Important tip No. 1 Never forget your battery, cost me 50 nicker for a new one  but on the plus side i needed a backup.Ok some shots below that you may or may not like. By all means please comment if you like.
Thanks
Darren
pete4130MemberReally like the first one. Would have been nice if there was a slight break between the bench and the shopping bag but thats me being super niggly.
ciaranParticipantExpresbroParticipantAgreed… No.1 is a really excellent shot…beautiful contrast and composition…
mgstParticipantAllinthemindParticipantI’m with those above on this one.. lots of stories that could go with the first one.
Si
brookiedParticipantthanks for the feed back guys,
Any thoughts on the color shot? i was going for an extra saturated feel. i dont think its winning many viewers?
GrahamBParticipantFirst shot – excellent
Second shot – my personal favorite.
Third Shot – just cool, looks a little pop artish.Really nice shots
ExpresbroParticipantColour wise I think the colour one is fine Darren..nice and vibrant and doesn’t really look over saturated to my eyes. But what brings it down for me is the position of the passerby. I think if he wasn’t bang smack in the centre of the shot it would be better to be honest. Probably part of the problem is that the first shot is so damn good that the other two pale in comparison… :D So that’s not so bad.
I don’t really get the second one to be honest…I’m not sure what I’m meant to be looking at apart from the back of the subject. But that could be just me..
Cheers
Robbie
8)stasberMemberVery nice indeed, I like them all though the first one does stand out. Position and contrast in d.o.f in the second is great – good work. And I like the way you worked the colours on the Jameson one, I think the exposure is about right for it. I had a tiny niggle about positioning of the person and wondering if he would have been better a couple of strides to the right, but now I think it’s just right, it’s what catches you to look at it, it interrupts the lit scene behind. Had it been a different type of poster/billboard, I probably would have said the passer by would be better walking out of frame. Cool, well done!
RobMemberFantastic first image Darren. Beautiful composition and great
processing. When you get one this good, you’d be better off posting
it on its own for comment. I’m not putting the other images down,
it’s just that they’re losing whatever impact they might have had
posted individually as you have three very different shot here.Regarding the colour one, I really like this one too. Contrary to earlier
opinions, the positioning of your subject works really well for me, mostly due
to what looks like slight barrel distortion along the edge of the paving lending
an almost fisheye aspect to the overall composition with your main subject
dead centre. Love the heavy saturation too.Rob.
mervifwdcParticipantI really like the first one. I’ve a thing for empty benches as some of you may know. The shopper in the shot really adds to to it. Superb.
Merv.
SusieSMember1st one is really nice and interesting. Very well done.
Number 3 has some kinda Poster-like atmosphere. I like it too. (it would look nice in really big size, as a poster or something like that )
