I’m a Windows man myself, but could be tempted by a Mac if it wasn’t for the prices!
Good to see someone still using Tipp-Ex!
cathaldParticipantSanta come early then Mick all the best with the new purchase
And i see if i’m ever down your way i will not be stuck as you use the same brand of ciggies!!!!!!!!BMParticipantThought about a mac recently. Tried one out at college when I was on a Photoshop course. Just couldn’t get teh hang of the user interface (e.g. no right mouse key) having been on PCs for almost 25 years!
Though there is no doubt that it is a better and more stable OS.
stcstcMembermust of been and old mac, the mac had had right click for at least a couple of years

BIFHE – now Belfast Metropolitan College – so probably running on valves
randomwayMemberThere is a lot of noise in the shadow areas on the Mac… the Window(s) look much cleaner, and the colours are better, too.
richiehatchMemberCongrats Mick.. great machines I think….! Although on the few in my office I have noticed the screens are
super duper bright.. probably a wee bit too much for my liking. Thats on the 20 inch ones all the same. Not
sure if this is the 20 or 24. 24 is better i hear. I got a new toy too!Cant wait for the weekend…!
Richie
(Oh yeah… do ye not miss the number keypad from that keyboard…???)
guthrijParticipantSnap! I moved to the Dark Side myself this year. I love my iMAC but the screen is a bit bright.
Cheers, John
ChristianpParticipantI know… thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s ox… but that iMac sure triggers my SES! (shiny equipment syndrome).
Nice one!
I still have to work on my puny 13-inch macbook, since my macbook pro got stolen. :(stasberMemberrichiehatch wrote:

I was doing fine until I got to your post Richie!
Anyhoo.. I’ve normally got my 20″ Cinema Display turned right down actually, I don’t see the need to turn it up as I’m able to work pretty well like that, plus I get no eye strain from sitting in front of it hours on end!
Nice one Mick I’m sure you’ll soon get the hang of it and grow to enjoy your experience on Mac. And I’m imagining the acoustic bliss you treat yourself to as I have the same speakers as you.
BMParticipantMick – nice desk, nice lamp, nice computer.
What’s wih the bic pen and the Tippex?
GizzoParticipantMick, can I ask you if that’s the 20in or the 24??
how long does it take to be delivered roughly??long live to Tipp-ex, Brian ;)

Mick, do you still use your monitor for printing?
Hahaha, oldie but classic. Reminds me when a user (real story from work btw) out in Russia somewhere was asked to send a screenshot of the error message he was getting. He took a picture of the screen and emailed in the 2Mb jpg.
