New55 Project (Type 55 polaroid)

Just in case people haven’t come across this online recently. There is a project ongoing to produce a
form of Type 55 polaroid film!. http://new55project.blogspot.ie/” onclick=”window.open(this.href);return false;Starting this Monday, they are going to use Kickstarter for the funding of this ambitious project should anyone want to help them get it going.
yes this has been on the go for a while now – fair play to them.
I’ll be keeping an eye on the kickstarter site!
Starting next week with the fundraising I believe. I think I might need an overdraft.
It started and its not cheap :)
If the project works and someday it becomes ‘affordable’ then I think a camera that takes it would be quite desirable :)
Its a Polaroid Film back you need a 545 or a 545i you can get them really cheap the 545 is the older model an all metal construction, 545i is plastic in construction both for 4*5. Both can be picked up for £20.

Well they made it- not so long ago, it seemed like they would come nowhere near their target-
I see Mark is a backer- any others here?Of course, it’s good news for me personally, the value of my three 545 holders has just shot up dramatically…
Great news held on to my back in the hope. I could get to use it again. It’s the later one plastic but brand new. Seen the older ones going for a £10 recently, that’s not likely to last.

It’s great news. Looks like I’ll have to invest in a back now after I do a bit of research :)
