Hi
I am a photography widow and am looking for inspiration for husband’s birthday. A complete photography nut, he has a Canon 20D, grip, tripod, 2 lenses (and no confidence in his ability  ). I would have loved to buy him the wide-angle lens he drools at but its out of the budget!
Any bright ideas as to what I could get him? I always try but apart from club membership or the odd coffee table book i fall short each year on the photography front.
thank you!
salsagerardkParticipantDoes he have an online gallery ? If not you could buy him an account on a site like http://www.deviantart.com.
Failing that these might be useful – specially if he is starting out on this
Magic Lantern Guides: Canon EOS 20D (Magic Lantern Guides) (Paperback)

A Short Course in Canon EOS 20D Photography (Book & CD-ROM) (Spiral-bound)

salsaMemberthanks for the quick reply!
Actually the lowe pro is definitely a good idea, as his current lowe pro has been to Asia, India, NZ in fact everywhere with him, and looks it!
He is actually a great photographer (I would say that) and has been at it for years, the 20D is his latest baby. He would not put his stuff up on a site, (we have discussed this) which is a shame as some of the pics from his travels are amazing.
Really appreciate the advice…

I really like the idea of the course too. The ones in temple bar and here don’t seem to fit the bill as far as I can make out from what I’ve looked up. Would love an advanced digital one.MarkKeymasterHey salsa,
You could of course tell him that we’re here, it might just change his life ;)
And now that you’re here, maybe you’ll find that if you can’t beat him join him and get yourself a camera.
You know maybe getting yourself one would be a good pressie as he’d be able to share his love for photography
with you more :)Mark
salsaMembersalsaMemberI just wanted to say a big thanks to all those who gave me suggestions for present for my camera-mad husband…
in the end I bit the bullet and boshed my credit card and got a Sigma wide-angle lens
(think birthday/christmas/anniversary present all rolled into one!)I only hope its the right one now!
thanks again!
A totally uncamera-mad wifeMarkKeymasterHe should be very happy.
All you need now is to get a camera for yourself and join him
Let him know we?re here. He might find the site useful also.
Thanks
Mark
