    Hi Everyone,

I’ve been lurking for a few days and really enjoying the site. Some very talented photographers here :)

I’ve been into photography since childhood and all my teenage years were recorded as a result!! In recent years I’ve become more serious about my lifelong hobby and after learning some of the ropes with my trusty Nikon D50 and some photoshop evening classes I got a Canon 5D with 50mm f/1.2L lens so now I’m absolutely passionate about photography and feel I’m beginning to bore those around me who don’t share my feelings. lol!

So… I thought I’d join up so I can look, learn and share here instead :) :) ;)

Anyway, I look forward to getting to know you all better and will post some of my own stuff soon!

Thanks for the very prompt welcome, John :) Yeah, I love my camera and lens!! It was a very nice surprise Christmas pressie from my hubby last year – although I was a bit shocked he’d spent so much!!!!! I’ve been making the most of it though to try and justify the price and have been stocking up on some great books so I can learn more about the camera and how to take better shots with it. In the last couple of weeks I’ve even managed to start shooting in manual mode as opposed to aperture priority which I’ve been sticking with for quite some time. I think I prefer aperture priority though although it’s a great feeling to be more in control of the camera with manual… Maybe when I’ve had a bit more practice I’ll be a total convert ;)

Just had a wee look at your site and loved the Killarney photos. I’ll get back to have a proper look when I get a chance – trying to get the children off to bed now :)

Hi Peter :) Yes, the more the merrier… I’ve joined a few sites too but this one seems really friendly. Then again maybe I’m biased being from Ireland myself!!
