Ran a roll through the Holga in Wexford town yesterday afternoon in honour of World Toy Camera Day… a small selection of my faves-
MartinOCParticipantAll good shots, #1 and #4 are more standard holga shots, not to take away from them,
but you have something there with #2 and #3, very nice.Martin
nfl-fanParticipantCheers M.
Another from that day… this dog had the most amazing green eyes I’ve ever seen.
5faytheParticipantHi John,
These are all very interesting viewing.
They give a different take on what are familiar scenes to me.
When I say different I mean different to a picture that I and perhaps
most others would produce of the same scene using our modern (ish)
equipment.I know that some of them have elements that are obviously modern but
the pictures have a timeless quality about them.Well done I say.
John.
nfl-fanParticipantAlright John… I know what you’re saying re: ‘a different take’… it’s fun to take the most traditional of views, like the Wexford town photo and do them again with the most un-obvious of equipment.
What about this one… the most traditional of all Wexford photos Holgatised –
Cheers
JMartinOCParticipantSo that’s JTS’s evil twin, those are some eyes, great shot.
The castle shot is good too.
You make it seem easy, pulling out these shots.Martin
aoluainParticipantVery nice set there J.
particularly the last two. the one with the doggie is class.
what film did you use? self process?

It sure looks like it-
I can hardly look away…I do like that one,
and the funny man in front of the fishing boat-
and the lady rummaging-
great shoes- the light up like a spaniel’s eyes in the dark…
That’s some shop too,
looks like a local shop, for local people…Good set, you did the WTFD proud…
MarkKeymasterLooking good nfl. Seems like you’re really enjoying using b+w film.
#1 is my fave.
Alan RossiterParticipantYep – loving Holga shots lately with these being no exception. The third – it took me a while to realise where it was. Hardly a local for local people being attached to a chemist on the busy main street but it can be taken as such.
SO, film and processing or do we have to go to the F place?
Alan.
RobMemberMartinParticipantNice set of shots John, the doggy one and the old one on the street getting something out of her bag are my fav’s. Good to see you out on WTC day
nfl-fanParticipantThanks everyone.
All shot on Fuji Neopan 400, developed in a 1:50 mix of Rodinal and scanned with the Epson V500.
