More a shot of a street in Nice France as opposed to a street scene.
Taken on the Bronica at 80mm on out of date Tri-x. Dev’d in Rodinal.
I’ve printed this on Ilford RC pearl and was pleased with it.Yep the buildings aint straight :) but I like the light
RestlessNativeMemberMarkKeymasterMartinParticipantNice looking picture Mark. Would be a nice shot to print, id say it came out well.
What Bronica did you get? an SQ one that shoots squares?
M
MarkKeymasterThanks Martin, even with my newbie darkroom skills it looked quite nice.
I got the Bronica SQ-A for the square format which I’m really enjoying using.
Now have 2 backs for it and 50mm, 80mm PS and 150mm PS lenses for it.Cheers
miki gParticipantHi Mark. Nice detail in this one. I get a sort of claustrophobic feeling from the leaning buildings, but I think this actually adds to the shot in a strange sort of way. Nice processing too.

Hi Mark, I keep coming back to this image. I was in Nice some years ago and this image
has brought back memories for me.On a technical basis you have managed the exposure very well, which is quite tricky in these streets.
I love the diagonal lines of the street on the left and right hand side of the image. :)Delighted to see you invested in the SQ-A. Fabulous camera system there.
I use an 80mm and 150mm with the Hasselblad but am on the lookout for a 50mm or maybe 60mm
wide-angle as I have been asked to do a wedding next year and they can be handy
for group shots. What’s your favourite lens of the three or do you need more time to find out that?
MarkKeymasterThanks miki. In the old part of Nice, the buildings are very high at 5 stories or so and the street very narrow,
so claustrophic is definitely the word for it :). Thanks.Seoirse, thats for the comments. I was pleased with the exposure and just as pleased when I
was able to get it to print as I saw it too :)On the lenses, I’ve not really used them enough to know yet. I only got the 150mm a couple of
weeks ago and haven’t had a chance to use it. I hope to use it to take some head-shots of the
kids soon…
