This is a headshot from a recent workshop day playing with lighting.
    C&C welcome.

KW, I like this you seem to have got the light right the length of her face if that makes sense. The only thing I think I would change is to try and get rid of or darken the light strands of hair just above her ear. My eye keeps getting dran to it. Not that I know anything about this type of photo or set up.

Very nice picture. Like the skin tones and pose. Not gone on the blue background though, something white I think would look better…

    Thanks for the comments.

I see what you mean about the hairs being highlighted. I sort of like them as they were there when I took the shot and I feel that this is processed way too much as it stands. The lighting was very simple with two softboxes directly front and rear of Nicole.

In terms of the blue – I sort of like the contrast feel it gives. I have other shots with white, grey and yellow/green gels but the blue stood out more for me against her dark skin. I might try changing it post processing and see what comes out.

Yes, nice shot, though I’d be with Martin on the colour of the background-
    it kinda dominates-

It was arranged with Tim Cully who has a ‘studio’ in Islandmagee. It was a half day session which included model, his tution and studio. Well worth it and definitely something I would do again.
