Nikon 80-200mm F2.8 ED ?

I found one of these going for under ?400 second-hand in good condition.

Its not the latest AF-S one, but from what I’ve read about this lens regardless of the
year of the model that its a cracking lens.

I’m tempted to get the 70-200 VR, but have decided to get the Nikon 12-24mm instead
and perhaps get a 80-200mm instead.

Anyhow, to the question, does anyone have one of these and if so whats the verdict ? :)

hi mark

that was a cracking lens when it came out my mate still uses one and the shots from it are fine, just check that nikon are still doing repairs on this model.

I borrow one from a friend of mine when I shoot gymnastics, soccor etc……….I really like the lens a ton……………
I do not know what the exchange rate is but around here they are going for $ 475ish to $600 depending on the condition….My camera store is on the lookout for one for me……
It is to late now to see what the exchange rate is…………
