Nikon D2x : Weak Colour…

I’ve been taking photo’s with my new Nikon D2X and I keep finding that the colour seems to be a little washed out especially in daytime shots, I didn’t encounter this problem with my old D70s or My trusty F601. Does anyone know any tricks for getting a richer colour in my pictures?

n.b. I have the colour profile for the camera set to the adobe colour management settings because I finish my images in my photoshop lab.

    Regards,
    Alex

Sounds to me like you’ve just answered your own question, but without knowing a lot more about your workflow it’s impossible to say.

I can’t help wondering why you bought a D2x if your D70 was doing just fine?

I had the same settings on my D70s but it worked fine, there is a lot more to the settings in the D2x and I haven’t got the hang of them yet I was hoping someone might have encountered the same problem. I got the D2x because I photograph images for use in High Resolution textures for 3D Animation and the extra 6 megapixels makes a monstrous difference…

Are you talking about the RAW pictures being low in contrast? You could post an example to us, because it’s hard to understand what you mean on washed out colours…

d70 and the d2x uses a combination of colour mode and colour space that both contribute to the final image. I always found mode III to give best saturation.

a bit of an explanation here :

Also, as randomway mentions, could you be shooting raw with the D2x when you used to shoot jpg with your d70?
