Hi,

Can you tell me if the Nikon D80 replaces the D50. I am thinking about buying the D50 and because l am a complete amateur I’m not sure which one l should be looking at.

Hi Lou,

First off welcome to the site, thanks for joining :)

On your question, no it replaces the D70s. Stick a post in the digital photography or general photography q+a forums with some information on
what type of photography you’re interested in, maybe budget you’ve got etc… and the folks will give you plenty of advice.

The D50 is a fine camera by the way. Ideally if you could get it without the kit lens and then buy the 18-70mm Nikon lens to go with it.
