NIKON D80?????

I am looking at this camera to purchase from B&h in NY as its 350euro cheaper. It will be my first digital camera already have Nikon F55. Am complete novice..not at all camera literate…get blinded by al the info :? Nikon d80 has received mixed reviews. Any info on it or a better first digital would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
