wjklewisMemberCiaran, I would agree with Nigel the F90X is a fantastic camera, I aso think that once you start shooting with film and see the kind of results you just cant get with digital, you will be hooked and wont be reselling your camera at all.
Digital is reasuring in that you can see if you got the picture right away, but someone with your experience will know that anyway and the latitude with film will give you even more lee way.
Best wishes with your travels look forward to seeing the results.

Not Pete the blokeParticipantNever mind the Nikon Ciaran…..I’m more interested in more info about your trip to the mountains of Iran. That was the bit that grabbed my attention……..
It’s hardly your typical tourist destination, so I am wondering is it a combination of business/pleasure? I am a total pacifist, and I just hate what the global ‘terrorist’ conflict is doing to prevent me from travelling to all sorts of exotic places. Who else would love to be in the heart of Kabul with any sort of camera for instance…………alas I can’t see it happening in my time. Similar for Baghdad etc.
Look forward to seeing some results, and no doubt you will find a few interesting local ‘smokers’ up the mountain…. :lol:Ross

It’s all pleasure, a pure photography trip :D. A few members in the camera club are very active in terms of travelling to off the beaten track places in search of photos. They’ve went to Cuba and India last year. all the time avoiding major cities and tourist trails. So this year it was a choice between Iran and Lebanon, with Iran edging it. I think it’s the fact it’s a little bit different and perhaps a little on the risky side that makes it so appealing. It won’t be until the new year (time to practice with some film) but no doubt I’ll be posting on or two shots from the trip.
