Last night my house was broken into in north co. Dublin and a number of items were taken including 2 laptops and my nikon D3100 with lowepro bag containing an 18-55 kit lens and also attached to the camera was a tamron 70-300 , I was only new to the fantastic world of photography and if anybody comes across one being sold I woul be grateful if you could let me know.

    Thank you

That’s terrible Kevin. Maybe post it in the North county Dublin section of Boards.ie. Someone might hear something.
Check the pawn shops all around too. I have heard of a couple of robberies in NCD lately where done of the gear has shown up in these.

Sorry to hear about your gear Kevin, I had my gear stolen last October. Hope you have home owners insurance. Contact cash converters and camera shops that sell used equipment.

Look through Done Deal, Adverts and ebay online

Do you have the serial numbers of the laptops, camera lenses?

Thats really crap. I lived in NCD until recently and would suggest taking a visit to Balbriggan market today. There are a number of stalls there operated by members of the travelling community and frequently stolen goods have been found being sold there. Apologies to any members of the travelling community offended by that generaisation BUT this is the reality of it. STolen goods in the area have also be known to re appear at Fairyhouse. Tight knit community and mobile phones are great so approach a couple of stalls saying you are looking to get your hands on a camera then hang around for a while and return to that stall. You might be lucky! Also keep your eye on buy & sell etc.

    Best of luck!
