Gary McParlandParticipant
One i shot a while ago at Portadown Station. Drove up to try and get some shots of the Steam train but there was a ridiculous amount of people on the platform. Was quite pleased with this one but it was the only decent shot i got while there. I have a colour version but the bright orange of their coats was a bit much in my opinion.
I have entered it in a competition on ‘Travel & Transport” so thought id share it here. (hopefully the right section)thanks for looking :)
Gary
5faytheParticipantThis is very nice Gary.
There is great clarity in the forground and the rails off into
the distance make a good composition.Very good conversion.
Good luck with the competition.
John.

How did you go about processing this one?
joseph
Gary McParlandParticipantHi Joseph. I used photoshop to process the original raw file and Silver efex pro to do the mono conversion.
Gary
miki gParticipantLovely shot Gary and beautifully converted. It is well worthy of a win. Best of luck with it.
shutterbugParticipantLovely shot, love all the pollution :) really good range of tones and
the clarity is outstanding………good luck in the competition will look
out for you in “members announcements” !!BookwormParticipantI also love it so much, Gary!
The man’s facial expression & train’s smoke drew my attention at once :D
Hope you will win in the competition~mgstParticipantLoGillParticipantthis is just lovely – I really like it
the conversion is lovely and definately the way to go with the orange jackets
For competition I suggestion you watch out for the very light part of the sky around the black smoke – its a little light and if Judges have to pick something they might pick on that.perhaps burn it down a little –
I wouldn’t suggest cropping because i love the dirty black smoke :)L
