Personally I wouldn’t be a big fan of the textured overlay.

I think it is another great portrait, but I think the texture detracts from it.

I think this would be a better portrait without the textured overlay. I can’t find any correlation between the mood expressed in the image and the texture.

DeeThank you all. this was my nephew who was leaning on a pick axe out the back of my house where im getting an extension done. Im kind of Trying to learn a little into putting textures into portraits and really am blind to it all. any info/advice as to the best ways of achieving this( am using elements 3). Also any do or donts in this field of photography is much appreciated.
