The sunset is well framed and well exposed but it is not sharp. The horizon should be pin sharp and it isn’t. That is due either to camera shake or the focus not being exactly right. Maybe if you increase the sharpness in your image editor it might help a bit. You should also try cloning out the buildings just down from the central point. As they are, they are a distraction.
The photo of the weir is quite good. The eye is brought straight into the frame thanks to the central line of the weir. There appears to be a flare spot in the tree just above the weir and, again, some judicious editing might be able to fix that.
