A photoshoot I done with Humanzi a while back.
This was my first photoshoot with a band outside a gig atmosphere.
I think It was taken in January 2007.
just realised i posted some other pics from this shoot elsewhere on the site but would like c&c on this one too.
Cheers
BDenverDollParticipantThink it is excellent.
Wouldn’t change a thing about it.
It’s a very classy band shot..great PR or album art.
pihjinMemberGreat shot… I think I would reframe it a tiny bit to move them just a smidge more to the right as the dark door on the right gives this huge amount fo space on that side that makes the left side seem a little cluttered.
Where did you shoot this by the way?
b318ispParticipantMy main thought is that the tend to merge with the backgound a bit. Some work in PS might make them more prominant (perhaps by darkening the b/g).
kasementParticipantnice shot ben, seen it on thee bands myspace
the only thing that gets me is the space on the right it unbalances the frame abit, there are now five in the band, so just copy and paste the keyboard player into that space and your all set
jessthespringerParticipantI think this is really good, wouldn’t change a thing. Agree with Sharon, think it would make great album art.
Did you ask them to pose this way?
Sinead.
PaulGParticipantGreat photo.
The lad on the left is a tiny bit distant (not just his cool, I’m in a band so I don’t look at anybody vibe) but his position. Shifting him to the left a foot and showing more of his body might have helped but then like most band shots, there’s always a couple of blokes left floating in the background
Great atmosphere to the shot.
ben4130ParticipantHi, thanks for all the comments
Phijin and b318isp yes the door does bleed into his arm so maybe a slight recomposition or maybe a small bit of work on ps could work. Although i dont think it is noticeable when viewed larger.
kasement yeah i havent gotten to meet the keyboard player yet, but i believe he is very good. Ill be shooting them on thursday i hope so maybe ill get something decent.
Sinead and Sharon, thanks for that, It was actually used on a billboard i think, well it was either this one or another one. Doubt it wil see the light of day again as kasement said they now have an extra member.Notes on it, shot in the back room of dorans, using a metz and an sb800 flash on a d200 with 10.5mm fisheye…. i have no idea the shutter speed or aperture
