I’m in the middle of 2 gigs with Nouvelle Vague here in the Roisin Dubh as part of the Galway Arts Festival: Here’s s few quick shots from last night, mostly from the mixing desk!
No processing here though, and yes the front light is that yellow. Changing the WB to make it white results in all the rear lights going way too blue!Yep.. they’re pretty hot
jb7ParticipantYep.. they’re pretty hot
I’m sure they are-
I’ll take your word for it,
but it’s difficult to tell from the pictures-
they’re all a bit small to tell-I think I’d much prefer to see a smaller selection, bigger-
they all seem pretty similar at this distance-Amazing that they don’t use photography on their record sleeves though…

Punk RockMemberThe massive signature takes away a tad but some of these are lovely captures.
The ladies especially look like they were ideal for photographing.jb7ParticipantAnd if you want to hear what they sound like,
they’re on the radio this morning in session- RTE1-
They’ve played one, at least one more to go-
Depeche Mode, I think they mentioned-j
seanmcfotoMemberLike I’ve a choice of size of sig with Lightroom? I’d make them bigger if they weren’t being bloody lifted all the time ;)
Punk RockMemberI don’t use lightroom or PS, not at that stage yet, but on the issue of your pictures being lifted thats a grey area.
Personally because I’m only an amatuer it wouldn’t bother me but I can well understand the more serious photographer gettiing annoyed.
I’ve seen nice little sigs on pictures from others though but as I said I don’t know what way sigs work as I don’t use LR or PS.:)
seanmcfotoMemberThe copyright sig in lightroom is the same size no matter what you export, so it looks huge on small pics and tiny on large ones..
I’ve done the chasing to get paid too. It should bother you if people make money off your stolen work.
ben4130ParticipantWhy not use a different program to add a signature. Nice photos btw, but a smaller selection of the best ones would be nice to see
HelenMParticipantJealous here! Missed them when they were at the Belfast Empire, having worn out the CD in the car. You got some really hot shots there – special access?
seanmcfotoMemberBen, it’s because I don’t feel like buying more programs. Or stealing them!
I’m not bothered by it, so it’s truly SEP.
Much as enjoy mixing and shooting in the venue, I wish the lighting was better! As to access.. no more than any other tog on the night Helen..
The second night was great too, but I shot very little.stasberMemberLR/Mogrify plugs in quite nicely to LR and it’s donation ware, which is great as you pay what you think it’s worth to you.
I’ve used it for plastering a message on proofs as well as experimenting with borders and the like. Unsharp mask takes some getting used to but you can turn off sharpening. Not tired LR2 Beta but by the sounds of it sharpening in LR2 will be much improved (roll on LR2), so one less thing to worry about, letting me use LR/Mogrify for custom text overlay or borders only. LR is poor in this regard (though granted it is still a version 1 product).
seanmcfotoMemberstasberMemberWasn’t sure if you had it already given your involvement with all things LR so thought to mention it.. if at least for the benefit of others. But I must say, for donation ware, it’s a very nice little ‘bit on the side’ and well worth spreading the word.
