Looking at the forcast I’ll be roughly in the same place in 36 hours. Think i’ll head back to Ireland and hide out for 9 or so months.. and join in on the last leg… Andy, you must know of a cave I could stash a 40 odd footer yacht in ???

The Westies are on the move.
The Easties look like they’re a torrid 12/24 hours ahead.

Spookily chilly off the coast of Brazil this morning…

(Disclaimer- not my boat, not my picture, not Brazil, not real)

It’s becoming frustrating, these doldrums…and we’re not even at the equator yet. I see the Jammy B.. has passed the point and is heading due south…I guess the only catching we’ll be doing now will be on leg 2 if patience survives that long.

You’re on a charge, though – managing 9.5 knots – twice what I can reach at the moment!

9.5 knots…in the wrong direction. Call me a speed freak but I can’t sit and flow along at 2.5knots in the right direction when I can shoot along the wrong way at 9.5. Just trying to find a bit of wind.

Can anyone believe this s**t…talking virtual boats, tactics, etc. I thought Crash Bandicoot was mad…

I’ve impressively found a pocket of wind and am back up hitting 34+ km/h at present. I’m sure it won’t last.

Looking at how many places change in short spaces of time, I’d say there’s about 20,000 boats here within a couple of hundred kms

    Pete,

Yes, it would be great to be able to turn all the boats on to see where the pile ups are.

Whoever gets out of this mess first will have a huge advantage.

    It feels like treacle.

Gained 1000 places in the last coupla hours.
    Thank f***.

Alan, you might go a bit faster if you changed your sail…doesn’t look like you’ve got your spinnakers on.

The alternative spellings of ‘bad’ language won’t be tolerated from this point onwards!

    Just a reminder folks…

Just checked – the spinnaker was tucked away nicely and in it’s place was a “Code Zero”…what ever that was. A bit of experimenting this morning and the fact that I have to work for a living I forgot myself. Cheers Mick.

Andy is 38 miles ahead of me and 2,535 places! Must be a large number of boats within a very short space.

As Andy said, it would be good if there was fucntionality to “light up” just the PI group. Would save Mick some time and effort.
