That’ll teach the smug little caveman. Shouldn’t go to sea in an inflatable.
andy mcinroyParticipantPete,
This isn’t any old inflatable.
This is Lidl finest adventure inflatable. It is fitted with a fishing rod holder and a emergency chamber in case of ramming by hostile sailors.
Here’s the current dunkerrycam. After midday I’ll be waking up the wife if she is still alive and getting her to paddle. The brat has been nothing but ballast for this whole journey so she’ll be going overboard before the final sprint.

May be a bad move, Andy. Where you’re going you may be glad of some extra food.
(Eating your shipmates is legal provided they’re dead first. If you have to kill one to eat
then that’s legal too, but only if you draw straws to decide who gets eaten. I read that in
the paper on Saturday.)andy mcinroyParticipantThe wife and I made it to Cape Town in position 8275 !!!
Alas, we had to eat the other member of our team who wasn’t contributing to the effort.
Cathal was magically there to take this photo as we tied up the boat and signaled victory.

;)Double or quits on the next leg?
BMParticipantThis sailing site was suggested to me – supposed to have better graphics and user interface. Certainly couldn’t be worse in terms of reliability.
I think it also has the Volvo race.
PeteTheBlokeMemberWho is Interpretate That? He/she just cheered my landing at Cape Town.

A secret admirer? fan? supporter? stalker?
I saw in teh TV listings for last night that Misery was showing. Maybe that kind of a fan?
Mick451ParticipantMick451Participant“I think it also has the Volvo race.”
Aye, it does.
Looks like it was designed by a programmer: functional but clunky and nowhere near as intuitive. On the plus side it has a 5 day realtime weather forecast which you can view via a slider timeline, a nice feature – should mean no sudden wind shifts every 12 hours on changeover as you can track continuously updated wind direction over time.
On the downside, there’s a manual (shock, horror) and it just doesn’t look as polished as the Volvo one. Setting direction is easy enough, as is laying in course changes. But I’ve no idea if I can change sails or whether the programme sets them automatically.

Yup, sounds like a plan.
Which of your many vessels will I be racing against – or am I racing against all with a price of 3-1?
Mick451ParticipantAh now, let’s just stick with the one on one.
At least until I win the Lotto and can hire 500 Portugese sailors to man my virtual armada.DenverDollParticipantspeaking of Mick’s many vessels~~
I think ISO 3200 is a brilliant name..just wanted to add that…
Maybe because its how I’ve felt in this race all along..and the server is down for me again
