Alan RossiterParticipant
I had a look at the forum on the site – what happens is that you magically get picked up out of the sea and carried to Capetown once the clock gets to zero. Then 2 days later 50,000 boats sail away on leg 2. All non finishers are expected to be classed as DNF but there’s a growing request to at least keep your ranking despite not finishing.
Leg 2 – where the odds are even and JB will feel the breath of competition down his collar. Obviously not mine, given that Poseidon was working against me!!
Alan.
Mick451ParticipantIt’d be fierce embarassing for JB if he didn’t do well against us landlubbers.
Just saying, like ;)BMParticipantMick451 wrote:

Just saying, like ;)and we wouldn’t gloatno, not at all, not a bit
Alan RossiterParticipantI’d be watching the Donkey Dingy and Pete the Powerboat this time around. They left us for dead when they joined in.
jb7ParticipantIt’s tomorrow, isn’t it?
Next leg?I gather there are quite a few legs left,
and you’re allowed to discard your worst results-
I’ll be hoping to improve on that dreadful 2,400th place-I wonder will we see any new boats on the Indian ocean?

Alan RossiterParticipant11am Irish time.
I noticed the real sailors took the straight line approach, ie, the shortest distance. OK, we’re in a virtual world but surely winds are as variable for them as us and they don’t follow the strongest wind path? I think a new stratagy is on the cards…seeing I was left wanting with 122 miles to go.
We’ll wait for ya at the finish this time JB…and no I don’t want to put my money where my mouth is. Cocky – yes, dumb – no! Still, the Donkey Dingy and Pete the Powerboat are still my favourites to shine this time…along with the souped up Alimoany.
cathaldParticipantI’m pulling my hair out here waiting for this thing to start up again
See what you started JB,it would be easier to go off the fagsCathal

positronMemberI think I finished 16340th or something, 17th in PI group, I was doing really well until a great white started circling my boat..!
Mick451Participant“I was doing really well until a great white started circling my boat..!”
Ah, come on, you can’t blame Fanboy for everything.

jb7ParticipantI’m not sure I’d be trusting the ranking system too much at the best of times-
I wouldn’t like to be fourth, for example-I’ve lost 63,000 odd places myself,
but at least I’m not driving like Denver ‘boing boing boing’ Doll-
although she was in 53rd place, last time I looked-
