Mad, mad place…JB, what have you done????? I’ve gained 6,200 places since lunchtime.
521 miles ahead but I’m in a strong stream…gonna get you…around December, but gonna get you.
Hope “The McInroy”, “Amys Dream” and “Slang61” didn’t get too wet from the wash when I passed.
…and I hope you didn’t get too much of a soaking when I passed you in the Burma Shave…
If you’re gonna beat them, you’d best join them…
Rob.
MarkKeymasternfl-fanParticipantI’m noticing that the game is running very slow… and the compass isn’t very responsive… same for everyone else?

slang61, you’re still stopped :D
He is half way through the island :) … the rules don’t say you have to race on the water only.
shutterbugParticipantI am off to Spain in the morning, will have no internet access for a week,
will surely run aground, have left my first mate in charge, (my daughter)
so wish her luck, having gained 6500 places I have dropped back 98 but
am periously close to the Canaries, foolishly trying to sail through them instead
of giving them a wide berth :) Good luck all.andy mcinroyParticipantI’m in the Dunkerry Dinghy.
I only have one paddle and I bought the boat in Lidl.
But don’t worry, I have my pucture repair kit at hand.
The McInroy is in my sights.
cathaldParticipantOk this might sound dumb but where are we supposed to be going on this first leg is it capetown
i just ask as i see alot of boats heading westCathal
SteveDParticipantCathal, you are on the way to Cape Town via the most easterly point of Brazil. If you move down the map, following the yellow line, you will see a marker just off the coast of Brazil. You must pass between the marker and the coast.
nfl-fanParticipantOK… so the marker is called “Ilha de Fernando de Noronha” right/wrong… and we must sail by this left hand side of this marker?

Correct!

Google “tacking” in relation to sailing. It isn’t like motor racing where the straight line is the fastest route.

Come on now, get in the spirit of the thing-
you’ll be rounding the waypoint to port…This thing is proving to be a bit addictive…
Alan RossiterParticipantThe nautical expert…660 miles indeed.
For those who don’t know their port from their sherry remember the following:
“There’s no port red wine left”.
Port, is left as is a red marker.
PI is quiet lately…
PeteWMemberThis seems to have everyone buzzing, so I signed up. A week behind but hey ho, avast ye hearties and all that…
