That leg seemed particularly cramped – gain or lose thousands
of places in no time. I wonder if they’ll go ahead and implement
“stealth” sailing, by which I assume they mean that you can’t get
thousands of players following the top few boats.aoluainParticipantany idea what is going to happen when the VOR is over?
will there be more races?
Dont know why im asking as I find my spare time centered around
the fheckin thing . . .
‘Have to be back to launch me boat’‘there is a wind update in 4 hours need to go online then’
PeteWMemberYou can always try http://www.virtualregatta.com which seems to have regular races, don’t say I didn’t warn you though….

From what I’ve read the Volvo race itself is held every three years.
I think that’s more than enough for me.
I’d like my life not to revolve around wind movements at 10pm and 10am for a while.Im the same as I said earlier.
I am enjoying it though. Dont think i will be going on that Virtual Regata site . . .
I think that is wat happened to some of the earlier members I notice that their
boats just start and end up going in the same heading.Mick451Participantjb7Participantwell I’ve lost interest-
if I can check in a couple of times a day that’s as much as it gets…I got so bored of it,
I tried to sign my name across the south Atlantic using my second boat on the last leg,
but ran out of time…Of course, if you’re doing well, like Pete the Pirate,
then there is an extra interest,
but a tendency not to follow the leaders is turning out to be a bad strategy for me-
I’m still hoping that some of them might follow me instead…aoluainParticipantJoseph I noticed we navigated the same course and I had a feeling
that you were not that into it as I am Cr8p at it and we were neck and neck!I feel you have to be checking in every hour at least tipping and tapping
away at your heading. It is a good buzz when you are really flying it.
PTB must clock sone serious time on front of the pc :)
BMParticipantI lost interest so much that I didn’t even see the last leg finish and this one start. My boat is now heading for Rathlin!
If anybody has the scores from the last leg, I’ll update the score sheet.
Mick451ParticipantPeteTheBlokeMemberYeese are a bunch of part-timers.
Do I clock in serious time at the PC? Of course. I’m a website
developer. But I’m not a VORG obsessive. I seldom steer the
boat between 10pm and 7am because my PC is off. If I know the
wind is changing in the night I might leave the computer sleeping
and sneak a look when my bladder wakes me. I’d be too embarrassed
to set the alarm – my darling beloved would tease me rotten!I know for a fact that some of the top boats (Powerof7 etc.) are skippered
by really dedicated people. I suppose it helps if you know about sailing –
I don’t.I s’pose it’s down to Mick and me to keep the PI flag flying.

I’m happy to go with the group results page on the site itself.
;)Nah. The China to Rio leg was a travesty (some might say a tragedy).
I like BM’s method.aoluainParticipantPeteTheBloke wrote:

Well I’ll be there till the end, eventhough I started late.
God only knows where i’d be if I had paid attention when
Joseph first posted the thread  :lol:I absolutely love the video footage from the ocean race site, man those boats can really
move.Mick451ParticipantaoluainParticipantNoooOoooooh,
I meant especially for the VORG!
I sit at the comp meself all day at work tipping and tapping.
